Reliable Diecast Manufacturing

Metal die castings for a variety of industries. With the best metal casting and gravity die castings, we heavily specialize in the automotive, lighting, and construction industries.

Die Casting

Die casting is an efficient and economical manufacturing process. The molds offer a long service life and are capable of producing visually appealing components.

The die casting process starts with heating a metal liquid in the furnace and then shooting it into the die using a machine.

There are two main types of die casting machines:
  • A hot-chamber machine is used for alloys with low melting temperatures, such as zinc.
  • Cold-chamber machines (used for alloys with high melting temperatures, such as aluminum) are typically used for.

When the molten metal is injected into the dies, the metal cools rapidly and solidifies into what becomes the final part. A typical casting will be subjected to one or more finishing processes prior to final assembly.

Advantage of Die Casting

Die casting is a process that can produce metal parts with complex shapes. It can do it with closer tolerances than many other processes and it has especially high rates of production. Parts that have been die cast are durable, dimensionally stable, and project the feel and appearance of quality as well. These parts are stronger than parts that have been made through plastic injection moldings which offer similar dimensional precisions of shapes and sizes. Die castings are also lighter than any other type of casting process so people get strength and light weight in one product.

Die castings are better than plastic injection moldings. Die castings can be made with thinner walls and are usually stronger than other types of casting. Die casts can last for a long time since the dies can produce thousands of identical widgets.

Die castings can be machined. This is done by coring the hole and tapping it to the desired drill size. External threads can be made by die casting the part. Die castings are also used as fasteners, including bosses, bolts, and studs. Their corrosion resistance rates are from good to high.

Die casting is one part made from a molten metal heated and poured into a mold, which turns solid. The material that the die castings are made of determines their strength. The use of a single mold design (die set) allows multiple features to be imparted in one process. Generally, die casting results in reduced cost from one process versus a process that requires several distinct production steps. It can also save money by reducing waste material and scrap. Die casting usually results in faster production rates or speeds.

Types of Material can be used in Die Casting

Steel is most commonly used in die castings. There are two types of chambers, depending on the metal.
  • Aluminum
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
  • Brass
  • Copper
  • Alloy

This technology is often automated and operates at high pressures from 150 bar to up to 1200 bar or higher. It is suitable for complex geometries with thin walls, as low as 1 mm, and can be finished with coating or plating.

DIE CASTING TECHNOLOGY

In our die casting manufacturing facilities

We manufacture various die cast parts that weigh between 5 grams to 12 kilograms. We use cold chamber die casting machines to cast aluminum, aluminum alloys, magnesium, and other alloys for our customers. For zinc alloy components, we use hot chamber die casting machines because of the melting point of zinc-based alloys that is 900 degrees Celsius, which affects the tooling and decreases its lifespan with large temperature gradients when using cold chamber wait casting machines.

Our die casting technologies and services present many advantages, including high production rates, high precision, high strength, and smooth surfaces on finished products. We always tailor our solutions to be the most cost-effective for customers because we know that the initial investment in tooling is costly. For this reason we offer a variety of repair and replacement options. We also offer project-by-project work, where we analyze the production duration, the number of parts required and the complexity. For large-scale projects, we can manage a part of the tooling cost ourselves. Therefore, storage, repairs and manufacturing of new tools are taken care of by us.

We have the best prices for die-cast parts, and you can choose from a variety of products for your specific needs.
